On a snowy, windy, bitterly cold morning in January of 2014, a Silky Bantam chicken was rescued by NFFAR from the shoulder of the New York State Thruway in Monroe, NY. Bleeding and in shock, this pathetic creature was rushed to our vet, Dr. DeMaria, and treated for 2 weeks. Funky Chicken recovered from a neurological issue and she was placed in a loving, lifetime commitment home.
